Frosty Fun (Explore Frost with this wintery investigation)
Materials:
Large tin can (smooth edges)
Crushed ice
salt
Jumbo Craft stick

Step 1:
On a chilly morning, take students outside and have them notice the frost on trees, grass, and cars. (you can also share pics)
Step 2:
Tell students that they can make frost right in the classroom. Have students place ice and salt in the can.  Instruct them to use the craft stick to stir the mixture.
Step 3:
As they stir, have them notice that the outside is turning white with frost.  Have them touch it and describe how it feels.
