General Literacy ideas to use anytime!

Picture
Collect any lids.  These lids are from water bottles.  Write letters on the top. Each student can have their own set they keep in a baggie.  They can practice if they have free time.

These are some different ideas on how to make your own seek and find game. The ones from the stores are very expensive. All you need for this activity is a container, and beans, and rice. The first is a small pencil box. You will need to make sure that the rice and beans will not come out.  This one has secure handles on the side that snap (from Office Depot).  The second is a VERY LARGE fun pencil bag.  You can do this with regular size pencil bags, or plastic bottles too.  I have everything in these bags.  You can put ANYTHING You want in them.  Shapes, insects, dice, letters, numbers (ANYTHING) then students have to seek and find :)

Reading and writing Left to Right: (Farmer and the Dale)
I go from left to right (use your pointer finger, point in the air, from left to right)
I go from left to right (use your pointer finger, point in the air, from left to right)
I know which way to go, when I read and I write! (point to yourself with both thumbs)

Word of the DAY!  Many ways to post word of the day.  Here is one you can keep by your door, and the children must touch and read it as they walk out of the room!

Make a bookmark of your child or really whoever you want!  So fun!

EGG PLAY  You can actually do this however you want.  Buy Easter Eggs when they are super cheap.  You can do spelling words, sight words, math problems, and Rimes (word endings)
