Management for teachers
Water Colors
Instead of having messy cups of water around that spill, use a spray bottle. When the watercolor paints get dry, just spray them with water again.

Tattling
There are several ways you can handle tattling. In my classroom I used a giant sized bear. He sat by my stop light, which was my behavior management chart. Children knew to tell the bear their problem. I told them at the end of the day the bear tells me everything. Another way to handle tattling is using
an old cell phone. Tell children they must leave a message on the phone. Both of these ways allow you to listen
to the tattle in case it is an emergency.
Extension: Depending on the age of your student, we need to first
model to students how to handle situations. After you have modeled this and
students are able to handle issues on their own, you can ask them, is this
something you can take care of, or do you need me to take care of it? Most of the time, my students wanted to
take care of the problem on their own.
Remember the important thing here is to model the process for a very long
time on how to handle situations.
Center Clean up!
Play the same song every day all year long when children should start cleaning up. Changing songs in the classroom should be done, but not for this procedure. They need to know what song to expect to hear to begin cleaning up.
